Personal maneuvers and tricks I use to maximize financial returns

Why I Started This Blog

I started to invest in the equity market right before 2008. I witnessed the crash of the financial crisis and the following great recovery. Then the pessimistic 2015-2016, sudden 10%+ crash in December 2018. More recently the 2020 pandemic crash and recent recession and historical inflation talks.

Since 2008, I have grown from an ignorant finance dummy to a mature investor who practices to control greed and fear on a daily basis.

There are a lot of materials – books, commentaries, news, reports, podcasts, blogs, etc. that talk about investment. Every piece of information provides one aspect of investment, and most of the time the information provided is conflicting. It can be very overwhelming for you.

However, there is so little knowledge available about portfolio management guidance in this volatile world. Receiving information is one thing. How to react on information is another.

Asset allocation and portfolio management are the keys to FIRE (financial independence retire early). That is what I would like to discuss more on this blog you – my fellow investors.

It requires the ability to identify big opportunities and extreme patience when things are going against you. It requires effective controls on investing behaviors to earn you the true long term wealth.

Over the years I have learned to look beyond the profit and loss of individual investments. Instead, you should focus on the risk vs. reward of the whole portfolio.

I continue to learn new knowledge and new ways to invest everyday to polish my investing philosophy. I am grateful about what the market has taught me. As a result, I am willing to share with you what I have learned along the way.

Thank you for reading. I hope this blog helps you become a better investor on this life-long journey.

Cheers.
